Igniting Social Impact: Leadership Perspectives from Women Sparking Change
A Leadership Speaker Series hosted by The GCG Collective

Leadership for positive social and organizational change requires unwavering vision, a passion for people and communities, and the resilience to meet and move through inevitable challenges. Join us in lifting the voices and perspectives of women leading transformational change. Through an intimate career Q&A and a mutually supportive circle for small group conversation and relationship building, this series aims to strengthen the community of women leaders working together to realize a more just and joyful world.

Meet Jean

Jean Mineo is the Executive Director of Bellforge Arts Center. She is passionate about exploring arts outside of conventional venues, guided by a belief in the capacity of the arts to change, enhance, and inform the way we think about - and interact with - the world around us. Whether in a community art center setting, artist’s cooperative gallery, public art installations, or open studios in unconventional venues, her life’s work has focused on creating opportunities for artists while seeking ways to engage people for whom the arts might seem irrelevant or inaccessible.

A Medfield, MA resident since 2004, Jean served as Chair of the Medfield Cultural Council, received a MA Cultural Council Leadership Circle Award, and was honored as Medfield’s Volunteer of the Year. In 2015, Jean helped established the Cultural Alliance of Medfield to nurture and support cultural programs that encourage collaboration, experimentation, and meaningful dialogue, and create an environment to foster the arts as a cultural necessity. Jean is currently converting two historic buildings at the former Medfield State Hospital into a 300 seat venue and 16 classrooms for the performing arts. Future phases include space for the visual and culinary arts.

Jean holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from American University.
